Kirk Lee Rohrer, 68, of Hagerstown, MD, died Saturday. The son of the late Fred R. Rohrer and Virginia M. (Hewitt) Rohrer,of Hagerstown. He was born in Hagerstown, MD on August 25, 1948.
He was a 1967 graduate of North Hagerstown High School where he excelled in baseball. He attended Bob Jones University & The World of Life Bible Institute. He served in the Military Police of the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, including one tour in Vietnam during which time he earned the Bronze Star for saving the life of his commanding officer.
Kirk was a professional truck driver for 40 years retiring from Conway Express in 2013. He was a member of Teamster Local 992, Life Member of the NRA, and the Hagerstown Bible Church.
In addition to his wife of 39 years, Cindy Hutson Rohrer and his mother, he is survived by his brother, Gary W Rohrer and wife Marjorie Rohrer of Boonsboro; two sons: Brooks Rohrer and wife Sabrina, Travis Rohrer and wife Tara; and three grandsons, Landyn, Bryson, and Lucas, all of Hagerstown.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Hagerstown Bible Church, 203 Summit Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev Dale Carver officiating.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Kirks memory to Hagerstown Bible Church or Hospice of Washington County.
