Kristy Sue (Miller) Danfelt, 54, of Williamsport, passed from this life at her home, surrounded by her husband, family and loved ones, on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born July 26, 1956, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Betty Taylor of Williamsport and the late John Miller.
She was a 1974 graduate of Williamsport High School.
She was employed with Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport for 37 years. She attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother, Betty, she is survived by her devoted husband, David M. Danfelt, whom she married Oct. 5, 1986, in Clear Spring, Md.; her loving children, Candy Saunders-Clark and husband, Robert, and Dustin Saunders, all of Falling Waters, W.Va.; stepson, Eugene M. Danfelt of Abingdon, Md.; grandchildren, Whitney Nicole Benedict, whom she raised, and Brayden William Clark; brothers-in-law, Steve Danfelt of Williamsport, and Frank L. Danfelt of Tomahawk, W.Va.; and her beloved dog, Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Alan Taylor, and her grandparents, William and Pauline Wiederhold.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., Williamsport, with the Rev. James E. Swecker officiating. Final resting place will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
The family will receive friends at the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church
