Lee Hubert Lanehart, 91, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully Friday, December 11, 2020 at Brooke Grove Nursing and Rehab Center, Sandy Spring, MD.
Born on February 5, 1929 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Anna May (Smith) and George Edison Preston Lanehart. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Beverly Ann (McSherry) Lanehart.
Lee graduated from Hagerstown High School.
Lee served in the U.S. Army, mainly at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Lee worked as a produce manager at Acme Markets. He was a longtime member of Halfway Volunteer Fire Department. A trapper, hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed leather tooling and metal detecting.
He is survived by one nephew, Martin Weller of Hagerstown and several cousins by marriage.
Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
