Lee Chandler Snyder

Lee Chandler Snyder, 84, of Hagerstown,MD, passed away surrounded by family on May 9, 2024. Born August 1, 1939, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Alton and Cubie Marie Snyder.

Lee loved life and had many interests. From learning about WWII, watching NASCAR and football, his model train collection, and his love of the beach and lighthouses. However, his deepest love was for (and now is) his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a devoted disciple of Jesus. He was a deacon for many years at the church, which he attended for half a century. Plus, he volunteered countless hours at the church. His main concern was that everyone would come to a relationship with Jesus, who transformed his life and gave him the gift of eternal life. He rarely preached the gospel, but he lived it well.

After his faith, family was the most important part of Lee’s life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He did everything with the love of his life, and best friend, Linda, whom he adored. We will miss his wisdom, advice, and, most of all, his hilarious dry sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward (Eddie) Snyder and Mike Kelbaugh.

Lee is a graduate of South Hagerstown High School, class of 1957. He retired from Washington County Engineering Dept; and he was a member of Bridge of Life (Faith Chapel) Hagerstown.

Lee is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Lee (Hull) Snyder. Son: Jeffery Alan Snyder, Daughter; Debra Cool and her husband Murray Rodney Cool. Grandchildren: Rodney and his wife Janelle Cool, Daniel Cool, Timothy and his wife Elizabeth Cool, Jessica and her husband Cory Barret, Joshua Snyder, and Jeremy Snyder. A graveside service will be held May 17, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue., Hagerstown, MD 21742 with Pastor Justin Perrow officiating.
