Leon E. Purdham, Jr.

Leon Edward Purdham, Jr., 82, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Ravenwood Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born June 7, 1937 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Leon E. Purdham, Sr. and Mary (Miller) Purdham. in addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Arlene (Miller) Purdham and two sisters, Mary Ann Moats and Joyce E. Lane.
Mr. Purdham was a US Army veteran.
He retired from Mack Truck and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aries 694, Hagerstown and for several years was a volunteer for the Washington County Library.
He is survived by five children, William F. Krumpe, Jr. of Washington County, Stephen C. Krumpe of Platteville, WI, Judy A. Bullock of Martinsburg, WV, Susan Y. Grove and Patricia A. Purdham, both of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Private graveside services will be conducted at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown with Rev. Sandy Boyer officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Leon's name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown is assisting the family with the arrangements.
