Leonard Lee "Budd" Henson, 85, of Maugansville, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born August 18, 1931, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Leo and Ina (Poffenberger) Henson.
Budd was a 1949 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the Korean Conflict.
Budd retired as a machinist in 1987 after 25 years at Mack Truck.
He was a foster parent, along with his late wife for over 25 years. He loved trains and to 'tinker' around. At the age of 61, Budd built his own home with blue prints he drew out when he was 16 years old.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Roberta "Bobbie" (Weaver) Henson, who died April 10, 2016; two sons, Brian and Benjamin; a daughter, Belinda; and 8 siblings. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Budd is survived by three children, Brenda, Brad, and Becky; six grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, Ryan, Dustin, Jacob, and Brittany; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Hayley, Liam, Darren, Destiny, and Jeremy; close friends, Betty and Steve Milwicz, Rose Thatcher; Debbie Stoner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family including Teresa Schafer.
Too well loved to be forgotten.
