LeRoy Schoppert Rind, III, 58, formerly of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Inova Fairfax Virginia Hospital, in Falls Church, VA.
Born January 20, 1958, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Irene Louise (Mundey) Fraley and her husband William C. Fraley, of Hagerstown and the late LeRoy Schoppert Rind, Jr.
LeRoy was a 1976 graduate of Williamsport High School, where he was a drummer in the Blue Band. As a child, Leroy enjoyed being an Eagle Scout and hunting with his late father.
After High School, LeRoy joined the Navy and was enlisted for 12 years. He studied information technology in the service and became proficient in fixing and programming computers.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, where he was an usher and a acolyte.
LeRoy is also survived by a son, LeRoy S. Rind, IV, and wife Gladys of Schanute, KS; a daughter, Cassandra Rind of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister, Cynthia Brantner and husband Joel of Hagerstown; several extended family; and his former Scout Master, who LeRoy was fond of, Jack McCarder.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, LeRoy S. Rind, Sr. and Lovice Rind; and maternal grandparents, Albert and Louise Mundey.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Rev. Randy Reid officiating.
