Lester Robert Line

Lester Robert Line, 88, formally of 14110 William Talcott Lane, Hagerstown, MD, passed away on February 26, 2023 at Hagerstown Healthcare. 

Born December 28, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Hattie Line.

He served in the Army and National Guard until 1962. He owned a Professional Lawn Care and Snow Removal company serving large businesses, as well as having several other professions through the years, including employment at Lowes and Hardell Services. 

He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1972 and was a member of the local congregation for over 50 years.

He was known for his big smile and funny antics. He and his wife, “Jane” loved to travel and went on many cruises in the Caribbean. He loved gardening, fishing and playing pool. He liked Country and BlueGrass music and loved to play the “spoons” to music when he was younger. 

He is survived by 3 sons, Johnny R. Line of Martinsburg, WV; Donald W. Line of Boonsboro, MD; and David L. Line of Hagerstown, MD; one sister, Evelyn Wooten, of Baltimore, MD; one brother, Ray Line formally from Hawaii and now residing in Maryland; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Della “Jane”; four infant children; one sister; three brothers and one son, Robert E. Green. 

A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends to attend on March 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 30 Nottingham Rd., Hagerstown, MD.
