Linda Mae Harne

Linda Mae Harne, 66, of Hagerstown, went home to be with the love of her life, on Friday, May 15, 2015 at her home. Not only was she dearly devoted to her husband, she was always welcoming and loving of all who entered her life. she had a way of making people feel loved and accepted and never judged anyone but was always there to give her advice and encouragement to all.

Born April 3, 1949 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late, James Cletus and Dorothea Virginia (Balcom) Smith. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold E. "Johnny" Harne, Sr.; a daughter, Virginia "Ginny" Brown; a brother, Ralph Smith ; two sisters, Connie Smith and Dorothea Smith Miller.

In addition to being a mother and homemaker Linda worked as a supervisor for Larstan Industries, ran her own house cleaning business, was co-owner of J & L Concessions and was a member of the Hagerstown Owls Club.

Linda is survived by five children, Gina C. Brown (Andy Allen), Sue E. Showe (Eric), Jamie Ashkettle (Lance Wetzel), Brandi Naugle (Mark) and Scott Brown, Sr. (Crystal), all of Hagerstown; four step children, Penny Thomas (Randy), Harold Harne, Jr., Edward Harne (Tammi) and David Harne (Kayla), all of Hagerstown; three siblings, James Smith (Tina), Kathleen Rinehart (Jim) and Donna Harne, all of Hagerstown; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Dean Peterson officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7 P.M.
