Lisa Virginia Funkhouser, 61, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born April 16, 1956, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marvin Funkhouser and the late Dorothy Funkhouser.
Lisa is survived by her son, Jay Merrbaugh; brother, Jimmy Funkhouser, Hedgesville, W.Va.; sister, Lorraine Shank, Spokane, Wash.; grandson, Tyler Martin; and niece, Shannon Shields and husband, Troy, and their children Aurora, Kyra, Zander and Rayah. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle, Jim and Jean Humelsine, and cousins, Maria Miller, Kay Filion, Mary Carpenter, and Tom Carbaugh and his wife, Diane.
Lisa loved animals, leaving behind her cat, Bella, and many other fur-babies in her extended family. She always tried to see the good in people and would remind you that there was someone out there who had it worse. She enjoyed playing trivia with her friends and planning for holiday gatherings with family and friends.
Lisa worked for more than 10 years at Washington County Hospital in nutrition services and was most recently employed at DMP in Hagerstown.
A memorial service will be held at Rest Haven Funeral Home at 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, on Friday, June 23, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at the American Legion, 405 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, from 7 to 9 p.m.
