Lloyd Leon Shoemaker

Waynesboro, PA Lloyd Leon "Jim" Shoemaker, Jr., 67, of Waynesboro, passed away, Thursday, May 31, 2012 at his home.
Born April 25, 1945, in Hagerstown he was the son of Hilda (Poffenburger) Linn and step father Carl of Hagerstown and the late Lloyd L. Shoemaker, Sr.
Jim retired as a automotive mechanic for Verizon of Hagerstown with over 30 years of service.
He was a member of L.O.O. Moose, Hagerstown, the River Bend Horseshoe Club and the AmVets, both of Falling Waters, WV.
In addition to his mother and step father he is also survived by four children, Candace Howlett of Hagerstown, Lloyd L. Shoemaker, III of Pearl City Hawaii, Patti Hawbaker of Waynesboro and Ricky Shoemaker of Hagerstown; two sisters, Patti Lilly of Florida and Linda Davis of Hagerstown; two brothers, Richard and Tommy Shoemaker both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Randy and Jerrica Hawbaker, Justin and Ashley Shoemaker and Danielle Howlett; two great grandchildren, Garrett Hawbaker and AdaLynn Harnish; four half sisters, Medora, Sarah, Rose and Tina; five half brothers, Sam, Joe, Alvin, Daniel and Thornie and his ex widow and caregiver, Charleda Shoemaker of Hagerstown.
In addition to his father, he also was preceded in death by two half sisters, Edna and Clara.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to the University of Maryland, Green Baum Cancer Center, 22 S. Greene St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
