Loretta Carroll Barron, 89, of Berkeley Springs, WV passed away on June 24, 2024, at the Berkeley Springs Healthcare Center. Born October 14, 1934, in Hagerstown, Maryland to the late George and Dorothea Myers.
In addition to her parents, Loretta is now reunited with her beloved husband Leonard B. Barron in eternal peace. She also joins her sisters Glenda Mayes and Joan P. Moore, brother James John Myers, grandson Josiah Barron, and great-grandson Julian Barron who went before her.
Loretta had a fulfilling career as a supervisor in the manufacturing business focusing on furniture. Her dedication and hard work were evident in everything she did. One of her proudest accomplishments was power lifting with her husband and family, showcasing her determination and vigor.
In addition to her professional achievements, Loretta had a passion for nature. She found joy in hummingbirds and flowers of various colors, appreciating the beauty of each bloom and the delicate grace of the birds. This love for nature reflected her own inner beauty and gentle spirit.
She worked hard and achieved getting her GED at the age of 50, Loretta never stopped learning and growing. She embraced education as a lifelong journey and inspired those around her to pursue their dreams no matter the obstacles.
Loretta is survived by her son Leonard Lee Barron and daughter Linda L. Hampe from Berkeley Springs. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who will always cherish her memory. Among the surviving family is her sister Teresa Lake from Diamond Head Mississippi.
Her life was a testament to resilience, love, and bravery in the face of challenges. Loretta will be deeply missed by all who know her but will forever remain in our hearts as a symbol of strength and grace. May she rest in peace knowing that she was cherished beyond measure and that her legacy will live on through those whose lives she has touched with warmth and affection.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue Hagerstown, Maryland 21742 with Pastor Jim Gross officiating, with receiving of friends two hours prior.
