Magdelena Santiago-Rivera, 61, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on February 8th 2024, at her son’s home In Martinsburg, WV.

Born on November 26, 1962, in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, to the late Pablo F. Santiago and Catalina Rivera. Magdelena was a homemaker for many years, staying home to raise her children and a few grandchildren on her own. While doing so her children we're taught uncompromisable values and morals by which they are known for today and that, Magdalena was most proud of. When they were grown, she began working at Washington County Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant for several years. Magaly the name that most knew her by enjoyed things like her coffee, always sharing her love for friends and family through her food. While tending to her many house plants. The coffee table in her kitchen became a place of love, passion and family time were memories were shared and created, and all were welcome at any time.

Towards the end of her journey, she demonstrated unshakable, faith and willpower even to the very last moment. Showing her children and their children that there's no greater legacy to leave within The ones you love than one of forgiveness. and the joy of learning that perfect love cast out all fear.

She is survived by her children, Yamisha Hansberry, Rosa Rodriguez, Joel Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez and Adalberto Rodriguez; grandchildren, Dustin Brian Socks, Timysha Rodriguez, Taina Rodriguez, Joelito Rodriguez, Daijah Rodriguez, Khailani Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez Jr., Jacob N. Rodriguez, Isiah Rodriguez; and her siblings, Maria McCann, Pablo Santiago, Yolanda Fulton, Wilma Santiago, Richard Santiago and Marisol Roche, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown with Pastor Michael Santiago officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
