Margarita Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson Weedon, 87, of Germantown, MD, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, surrounded by family.
Born on May 27, 1934 in Colon, Panama, Margarita was the daughter of the late Sydney George and Esthelyn Elizabeth Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Adolphus Weedon; her daughter, Angelica Holt; her brothers, Sydney Anderson, Lancelot Anderson, and Carlos Anderson; her daughters, Eda Anderson and Verna Anderson; and her son-in-law, Richard L. Jones.
Margarita's mother passed away two weeks after she was born, so she was raised by her grandmother, Urcella Lewis. She moved to the United States in 1979. She enjoyed playing Bingo, watching movies, and singing.
Margarita is survived by her children, Selvyn O. Wyatt and wife Elvia M., Rosa Jones, Sandra Garces and husband Teofilo, Reinaldo Wyatt, Eda Wilbar and husband Michael, Nilka Charris and husband Alberto, Irma Ceballos and husband Luis, Alida Alcantar and husband Eduardo; her son-in-law, John Holt; adopted son Michael Jackson; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and several friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1:00 at Rest Haven Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margarita's name to The American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
