Marilyn Ruth (Clark) Kauffman, 82, of Hagerstown, passed away on her birthday, Monday, August 20, 2018 at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 20, 1936, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Grace E. (Smith) Clark.
Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School and attended Hagerstown Junior College.
She worked as a homemaker. Marilyn was a former member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Hagerstown and the Hagerstown Tennis Club. She was a member of DAR. Marilyn was an avid tennis player and enjoyed bird watching as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald Lee Kauffman; a daughter, Melinda Simmers and husband Bob of Hagerstown; a son, Ian Kauffman and wife Becky of Waynesboro; a brother, Charles L. Clark and wife Kay of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren, Billy Whittington and wife Cassandra, Nick Whittington and fianc Shayla Clark, Michael Stahl, Emma Stahl, David Kauffman, April Kauffman, Ben Kauffman, and Aiden Kauffman; eight great-grandchildren, Amber and Abby Whittington, Ally and Chloe Whittington, Jayden and Brayden Kauffman, and Selena and Maddy Kauffman.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, David Kauffman and a sister, Lois Boyington.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 PA Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Dale Carver officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
