Marjorie E. Dell

Marjorie Elaine Dell (nee Zimmer), 97, wife of the late Robert Dell, Hagerstown, MD passed away peacefully Sunday December 2, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center. Born August 29, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd O. and Marie Zimmer.
Marjorie attended Bremen High School and had multiple degrees from various universitiesincluding Biola, Purdue and Presbyterian St. Lukes. She was a missionary in China, worked as a nurse in several states, for years as a primary school teacher in Indiana and in later years in her role as a pastors wife at Cornerstone Community Church and Grace Brethren Church in Hagerstown, MD.
A prolific letter writer, she provided her wisdom, counseling and guidance to not only her family, but so many countless others who crossed her path. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 best sums up her life: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Survived by her stepsons Phil Dell (Rosie), Jonathan Dell (Lynn), Tom Dell (Becky) and Andy Dell (Laurie) and many grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn McCarthy of Naperville IL, 10 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Robert, she was predeceased by her brother Robert Zimmer and her parents.
Private graveside services will be conducted with family. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, West Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD.
