Marsha Ann Massey

October 30, 1935 — February 16, 2017

Marsha was the daughter of the late, Mildred Lulu and Earl Saum Keller of Hagerstown, Md.

She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School class of 1953 and Washington County Hospital School of Nursing class of 1956 earning her RN degree.

She always had a love for Nursing since early childhood and followed that career by working at Washington County Hospital in Obstetrics and then the office of Dr. Dove and Gist for several years, and also Dr. Bacon and Young in Pediatrics until 1970. she then moved to North Carolina where she was a Nurse Supervisor for Dr. R. Hodgson in Hertford, NC for 10 years. In addition to this she taught the first EMT class to the fireman and ambulance personnel in Hertford; and graduated 74 new EMT's in three years through the College of Albermarle in Elizabeth City , N.C. She taught basic first aid to the teachers of Perquimans High School in Hertford, N.C. She moved back to Hagerstown in 1982 where she was employed by Western Maryland Center for 17 1/2 years working in Geriatrics; retiring in 1997. She was a member of First Christian Church for most of her life and later in life changed her membership to Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by daughters, Tamara Lynn Williford and husband Cleveland, Melinda Sue Askew, Tracey Lee Lapole and husband Richard, 3 grandchildren Jessica Leigh Hutzel and husband Ryan, Eric Cleveland Williford and wife Trish, Justin Allen Lapole and wife Laura and 1 great-grandchild Lila Faye Williford. Marsha is also survived by one sister Carolyn M. McSherry , four brothers, Larry E. Keller, Alan L. Keller, Curtis B. Keller, Stephen D. Keller and many nieces and nephews.

During her life she enjoyed doing crafts, Oil Painting, Camping, Travel, Playing Computer games, dining out with her friends monthly and was an Avid Orioles fan.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 P.M.
