Martin Altman, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his home.
Born June 21, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York he was the the son of the late, Benjamin and Ethel (Lerner) Altman. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Altman and a sister, Myrna Chernet.
Mr. Altman was a graduate of Blair Academy, Blairstown, NJ and Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa.
He retired as an outside salesman for the US Government.
Mr. Altman was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Williamsport. He was an avid skier, voracious reader and he loved American history especially Civil War history.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 45 years, Elizabeth Horton Altman; three children, Adam Altman (Michelle) of Arlington, Virginia., Susan Bladen (Tim) of Portland, Oregon. and Joseph Altman (Kathy) of Thompson Fall, Montana; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12 P.M. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Dr., Williamsport with Rev. Mark Sandell officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Martin's name to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church or to Hospice of Washington County.
