Mary Ellen Holsinger

February 12, 1935 — March 9, 2020

Mary Ellen Holsinger Snyder, R.N., left this world to be with her angels on March 9th, 2020.

She was born to Helen and Elwood Holsinger on February 12, 1935 in Washington County Hospital.

Mary Ellen graduated from Washington County School of Nursing in 1952. She was admired by many of her patients as she carried out her role as head Nurse on the 5th floor of the former Washington County Hospital. She fulfilled this role effectively and lovingly for more than 15 years.

She was also co-owner of Ken-Mar Kennels. For several years she raised and showed Pomeranian dogs, many of whom became Blue Ribbon winners.

For several years she was employed as an R.N. at Jeanne Rhodes Preventive Health Institute.

She was a member of the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship.

Mary Ellen will be sorely missed by all who knew her as well as her many patients.

She is survived by her brother, Robert E. Holsinger, Sr. and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy A. Eshleman and a brother-in-law, Willie and a sister-in-law, Regine L. Holsinger.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Eric Henderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, 14010 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
