Mary G. Gipe, 66, of 10 Elizabeth St., Hagerstown, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Aug. 19, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Chester V. and Hazel L. Mills.
She was formerly employed through the board of education, and was the ex-wife of Nelson Gipe Sr.
She enjoyed Elvis Presley, bingo and puzzles in her free time.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Gipe, Penny Jennings and husband, Andre; and son, Nelson Gipe Jr., all of Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Vickie, Ashley, Angie, April, Gary, Billie Jo, Megan, Aaron and Chelsa; 13 great-grandchildren; boyfriend, Harry Stottlemyer; and family friend, Bill J. She was loved by friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Thurman Mills; sister, Imagene Edwards; and son, William Gipe.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Brett McKoy officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
