Max Edward Darrow, 85, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 23, 1938 in Belding Michigan he was the son of the late, Roscoe Henry and Dorthy Irene (Robb) Darrow. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by two brothers, George and David Darrow.

Mr. Darrow was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

Mr. Darrow graduated from the Dexter Public Schools and retired from Youth for Understanding as Director of Operations of International Student Exchange.

His hobbies were fishing and hunting.

Mr. Darrow is survived by his loving wife of 63 plus years, Sharon Ann (Gainsley) Darrow; four daughters, Tracey Suzanne (Darrow) Donner-Webb of Hagerstown, Colleen Renee Darrow of Knoxville, Tn., Beth Ann (Darrow) Beard of Hagerstown and Dawn (Darrow) Noonan of Falling Waters, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four brothers, Tom Darrow  and Cindy of Dexter Mich., Ken Darrow and Donna of Eustis, Fla., Jim Darrow and Sandy of Dexter, Mich. and John Darrow and Kay of Georgetown, Tx.; one sister, Debbie Bailey and Terry of Ypsilanti, Mich.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Hospice Chaplain Rev. Volodymyr Grinchenko officiating.  Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Max's name to Hospice of Washington County, 1710 Underpass Way, Hagerstown, MD 21740
