Melinda Sue “Mindy” Speaker Askew, 61 of Hagerstown, MD passed from this life into the Arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

She was born July 6, 1960, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Marsha Ann Keller Massey and Harry Ralph Speaker.

Mindy worked in banking at Citicorp and then First Data for many years.

She was of the Protestant Faith.

She was a 1979 graduate of Perquimans County High School.

Mindy is survived by her sisters Tamara Williford and husband Cleve; Tracey Lapole and husband Rick; her beloved niece Jessica Hutzel and husband Ryan; her beloved nephews Eric Williford and wife Trish; Justin Lapole and wife Laura; two beloved great-nieces Lila Williford and Elora Lapole; special and loyal friend Kenneth “Bubba” Paul and beloved K-9, Roxie.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on January 8th, 2022 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD with Pastor James Gross officiating. The family will receive family & friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be private.
