Mercedes Amelia Wakenight, 71, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday, May 31, 2013, at Golden Living Center, Hagerstown.
Born May 11, 1942 in Lima, Peru, she was the daughter of the late Rafael D. Muro and Carman Rosa (Hoefken) Munoz.
Mrs. Wakenight was a active member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown, where she was employed as a secretary.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Gene Wakenight; one daughter, Alexandra Wakenight of Hagerstown; one brother, Demetrio Muro Barnuevo of Lima, Peru and one granddaughter Brea Wakenight.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M.
