Michael Alan Lafferty, 59, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Friday, July 30, 2021, at Doey's House, Hagerstown.
Born August 20, 1961 in Williamsport, Md., He was the son of Kenton and Bernice (Houser) Lafferty.
Michael had worked for 27 years as a pulper operator for Maryland Paper in Williamsport.
He attended the Virginia Ave. Church of God, Hagerstown. He was an avid fisherman, handyman and loved to vacation at the beach.
In addition to his parents he also is survived by his fiancé, MaryJo (Chilcote) Barger; three step children, Dan Kuczinski and wife Julie, David Hoskins and wife, Dawn and Michael Kuczinski; three siblings, Norma Jean (Lafferty) Harsh, Randy Lafferty and wife, Judy and Scott Lafferty and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Shipley) Lafferty.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M.
The funeral home will be available on Wednesday from 12 noon for anyone who is unable to attend the evening visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Michael's name to Hospice of Washington County (Doey's House), 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
