Mildred Blickenstaff

February 10, 1918 — May 11, 2015

Mildred E. Blickenstaff, 97, formerly of Mt. Tabor Road, Hagerstown, passed away, Monday, May 11, 2015 at Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born February 10, 1918 in Westminster, Maryland she was the daughter of the late, Elmer Richard and Ina Marie (Flohr) Greenwalt. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Daniel Webster Blickenstaff; one brother, Richard Stewart Greenwalt and one sister, Caroline Townsley.

In addition to being a homemaker she previously worked for the Hagerstown Leather Company,owned and operated her own Bridal Consultant business and did domestic work outside the home.

Mrs. Blickenstaff was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, Hagerstown and recently attended Mt. Tabor United Brethren Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and assisted with Bible School, she also was a member of TOPS in Williamsport and the Cozy Town Homemakers Club.

She is survived by seven children, Joyce Snyder (Richard) of Hagerstown, Ronald Blickenstaff (Carolyn) of Hagerstown, Danny Blickenstaff (Sharon) of Hagerstown, Richard Blickenstaff ( fiance, Susan) of Summit Point, WV, Thomas Blickenstaff (Brenda) of Hagerstown, Sherry Shafer (Carl) of Huntsville, TN and Mary Ellen Cook (John) of Hagerstown; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Lynn Munson and Julie Monninger Life Enrichment Advisor Coordinator at Williamsport Retirement Village officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mildred's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
