Mildred Myers (MacNamee) Benchoff, 94, of Williamsport, formerly of Cascade, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 26, 1916, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Pierce and Helen (Nail) MacNamee.
Mildred retired from Fort Ritchie as a senior accounting supervisor. Prior to that, she worked in the accounting department at Sharrett Motors.
She was a member of Salem Reformed Church in Hagerstown.
Mildred volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at Ravenwood Nursing Home.
Mildred is survived by a daughter-in-law, Faye C. Myers of King of Prussia, Pa.; a sister, Catherine Wright of Williamsport; a brother, Melvin MacNamee of Hagerstown; a granddaughter, Diane Woish and husband Michael, of Abingdon, Md.; a grandson, Lawrence â??Larryâ? Myers and wife, Kelly, of Pottstown, Pa.; and three great-grandchildren, Erin, Andrew and Anna Myers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman R. Benchoff; a son, Kenneth A. Myers; and two brothers, William MacNamee and Warren MacNamee.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Steve Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one-and-a-half hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
