Mildred J. (Diehl) Crumbacker, 90 of Hagerstown, Md. passed away at her home Sunday Jan. 22, 2017. Her husband of 60 years, Guy L. Crumbacker preceded her in death in 2009.
Born Nov. 24, 1926 in Everett, PA, Mildred was the daughter of the late Walter Eugene Diehl and Lula Mae (Pittman) Diehl.
She graduated from Everett High School in 1945 and was active in the band and played for the girl’s basketball team, being the Star guard for the team in 1942.
Mildred worked at Sears for 26 years, retiring in 1987. After retiring her and her husband traveled on many bus trips across the United States.
She attended St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
Through her years, Mildred enjoyed traveling, sports, bowling, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Williamson and husband Bob of Hagerstown; daughter Sherri Heil and husband Jerry of Sharpsburg; two grandchildren, Jason Heil of Sharpsburg and Kara McCormick and husband Andrew of Hanover, PA; three great grandchildren, Nathan Heil, of Sharpsburg, Payton and Colton McCormick of Hanover, PA.; three sisters, Ina Koontz of Wellsville, OH; Marylou Tompkins of Indianapolis, IN, Winnie Callahan of Strasburg, Va; brother Ronnie Diehl of Chambersburg, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; Helen Gorsuch, Evelyn Spade, Betty Gamble, and Brother Francis Diehl.
At her request, there will be no viewing.
The family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, Jan. 27 one hour prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Michael Henning and Rev. Rodney Spade officiating. Interment at Rest Haven Cemetery will follow the service.
