Myra Marie Constable

Myra Marie Harshman-Constable, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, left us peacefully at home on December 17th, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Myra was a young 81, full of life and more energy than most in her family. She enjoyed bowling, lunching with friends, and traveling with family. She will be remembered for her love of family, traditions and gatherings.

Born August 8th, 1943, in Funkstown, MD, she was the only daughter of Atlee Harshman and Nina Head and sister to three brothers, Milton, Ronald and Nevin. Her parents had a farm and canned all the family vegetables; she continued to share this love and her gifts for tradition with her children and grandchildren. 

She married Linwood Davis Constable in 1959. Together, they raised five children: Nina (Miller), Wesley, Kendra (Smith), Atlee, and Barbie (Rossini). However, some would say she raised six children, including my Dad. Family and friends were always welcome around our dinner table, and she will be remembered for the best sweet tea, dinner rolls, and stuffed cabbage rolls she shared on New Year’s Day. 

Myra is survived by her brothers Nevin and Ronnie Harshman and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Daughter Nina (Miller), husband Tom, children Shona Carpegna, Ryan Carpegna, Caitlin and Ben Miller. Son Wesley, wife Chris, children Casey Constable, Amy Constable and Josh Constable, stepchildren Leigh-Ann Bellerive and Amber Reese. Daughter Kendra (Smith), husband Donnie, children Nick Smith, Brandon Smith and Chelsea Smith. Son Atlee, wife Christine, children Cullen Constable and Taylor Jernigan, stepchildren Brandon Wallech, Taylor and Chad Wyand. Daughter Barbara (Rossini), husband Michael, children Zachary Constable, the late Alex Gordon and Worth Gordon, stepchildren Alina and Teresa Rossini, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be provided by Rest Haven Cemetery and Chapel, Saturday, December 21, 2024 with family viewing at 10:00, open viewing at 11:00, and services at noon. Reception to follow at Wacohu Grange Hall 16412 National Pike, Hagerstown MD 21740
