Nelson Stuart Dunahugh, 77, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born September 12, 1942 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Raymond S. and Alice R. (Grimes) Dunahugh. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia D. (Potter) Dunahugh and one sister, Carol Reeder.
Mr. Dunahugh was a US Navy veteran and retired in 1987 as a Hagerstown City Police Officer with over 20 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Thomas Pangborn Lodge No. 88; He was past president (1994-1996) volunteer and coach of the Halfway Little League from 1994 - 2000. He also was an addictions counselor at the Washington County Hospital and the Wells House for many years.
Mr. Dunahugh is survived by his wife, Diana L. Dunahugh; two sons, David W. Dunahugh of Va. and Travis M. Dunahugh of Waynesboro, Pa.; two daughters, Bobbi S. Krouse of New Market, Md. and Krista L. Dunahugh of Waynesboro; one sister, Loretta Nichols of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M.
