Pamela Lucille Mummert

On Friday, December 1, 2017, Pamela "Pam" Mummert passed away at the age of 83 at Twin Oaks Retirement Village in Williamsport, Maryland. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones at the time of her passing. Pam was born on June 9, 1934, in Hagerstown, Maryland. She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha Janette Price and Howard William Price; her husband, Ennis Angle Mummert; daughter-in-law, Lisa Ann Mummert; and lifelong friend, Bryweag Harne.

Pam will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, and friend. She is survived by her four children, Mark Ennis Mummert; Melanie Jan McCarty and husband, Steven; Mitchell Howard Mummert and wife Anna; and Miles Edward Mummert and companion Maureen; six grandchildren, Karly, Gretchen, Rhett, Cade, Holly and Jared; and six great-grandchildren, Alana, Tenlee, Bryson, Liam, Evan, and Scarlett. She is also survived by her cousin, Betsy Stone, and lifelong friend, Pat Hovermale.

Pam was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She enjoyed traveling and had been to New England, New York, Reading, Ocean City, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, Atlanta, Parris Island, Disney World, the Florida Keys, and Hawaii. Pam loved collecting Gone With the Wind memorabilia, eating good food, and shopping. Raised during the Great Depression, she became an avid coupon clipper later in life and was known for her ability to find the best deal on anything; she passed her frugality and deal-making skills on to her children and grandchildren.

Memorial service and visitation will be held at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Hagerstown, Maryland, on Thursday, December 7, 2017. Open visitation will be held from 12-1 pm; service to begin at 1 pm and will be officiated by The Rev. Elizabeth H. Jackson, The Rev. Steven L. McCarty, The Reverends Anne and Allan Weatherholt, and The Rev. John Cozzoli. Interment to follow service.
