Patricia Diane (Feete) Shewbridge, 90, of Preston Road in Hagerstown, passed away from this life into the eternal care of her loving Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
Born on September 7, 1931, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elva Virginia and Bernard Lee Feete.
Pat was a graduate of Brunswick High School and attended Hood College. In 1952, she married James C. Shewbridge. His career in the railroad industry would relocate them many times until they and their three children settled in Hagerstown in 1969.
Pat was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Hagerstown, where she served as a deacon, an elder, and president of the Ever Ready Sunday School Class for many years.
She was a fifty-year member of the Hagerstown Women’s Club as well as a member of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, James Shewbridge, as well as by her Virginia gentleman, James Gordon.
She is survived by her son, Eric G. Shewbridge and wife Susan of Auburn, Georgia; daughter Kimbre Tantillo and husband Bob of Hagerstown; and daughter Patricia Nice of Dahlonega, Georgia; six grandchildren, Ashley Hartsock and husband Matt, Brittany Shewbridge, Daniel Shewbridge and wife Grace, Laura York and husband BJ, Molly Tantillo and partner Dillan Hampton, and Preston Shewbridge; and ten great-grandchildren.
She cherished her many female friends over the years, most of whom she outlived. They all loved Pat for her listening ear and caring heart.
A springtime memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, April 23 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue in Hagerstown, with the Rev. Dr. David T. Britt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be private at Rest Haven Cemetery.
