Paul Belmont Bradfield, 96, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born November 18, 1922 in Hampshire County, West Virginia he was the son of the late, Paul Smith Bradfield and Ruth Florence (Stotler) Bradfield. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Frances Louise (Malcom) Bradfield; two brothers, Charles "Chuck" Bradfield and Robert "Bob" Bradfield and one sister, Magdalene Straw.
Paul was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church and had a love for the outdoors and animals.
Paul retired with 33 1/2 years of service as a signal and communications foreman with the Western Maryland (Chessie) Railroad.
Paul was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WW II. Serving as a sergeant with the 534th Air Engineering Squadron Seventy Seventh Air Service Group in the Pacific Theater
Paul is survived by one son, Brian Bradfield and wife Terry; one brother, Wayne Bradfield; two sisters, Helen Shambaugh and Dale Crawford; a step grandson, David Kim and dear friends, Shawn Alton, Bob Alton, Carla and Bobby Green.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Jerry Lowans officiating
Friends will be received on Friday one hour prior to services from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
Memorial contributions may be made in Paul's name to the Washington County Humane Society, 13011 Maugansville Rd., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
