Pete Madeo

June 29, 1949 — April 19, 2019

Peter Domenic "Pete" Madeo
June 29, 1949 - April 19, 2019

In June 1949, I was born fifth of seven children to the late Ruth and Joe Madeo. Brought into this world in San Francisco, California, the family returned East and I grew up on the eastern seaboard and Caribbean. My loving wife, Chris, of 47 years, survives me and has provided me with a wonder filled life. I cherish and will miss her and felt throughout our marriage the love that she showered upon me. We have four loving daughters that have survived me, Eva and husband Tim, Debbie, Patricia and husband Terry, and Bronwyn Kelly and husband Jonathan. We are blessed with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
I am also survived by three sisters and one brother. Sisters, Maria and husband Jeff, Martha and friend John, Margretta and husband Dennis and brother, Richard and wife Carol. I was preceded in death by my two elder brothers, Joseph and Christopher.
After graduating from Va. Tech, my first 22 working years were spent as a career Army Officer mostly in hospitals and medical research centers, ending with my first retirement from USAMRIID, Fort Detrick Maryland. My last 22 years were spent in industry in and around Hagerstown, Maryland, finally retiring for the second time from T.B.Woods Foundry in Chambersburg, Pa.
Although I have no regrets about leaving this world, I am sad that I will miss everyone and disappointed that there is so much work remaining undone to make our world better. As I depart, I ask that in lieu of flowers, you reach out to one of our marginalized neighbors, and lend them a hand as they struggle to assimilate into this difficult world in which we live.

The family will hold a memorial service in mid June to honor Pete's passing.
