Philip Jackson Bray

Philip Jackson Bray of Hagerstown was born on February 24, 1943 in Washington,
D.C. and died on December 8, 2017 at Doey's House.

Phil graduated with honors from Colgate University and Tulane University Law School. After three years of private practice with the Baltimore firm of Venable, Baetjer & Howard, Phil worked for thirty-six years as an attorney in the legal department for Allegheny Power.

He was a former president of the Washington County Bar Association, a member of the Optimist Club of Washington County, and on the John R. Marsh Cancer Education Committee.

Phil was an avid tennis player and a long standing member of Fountain Head Country Club.

Phil is survived by one brother, Henry Bray, his wife Nancy and their three children, Bill Bray, Dave Bray, and Beth Perkins. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Jean Hoover, his sister-in-law, Christine Coss, one step son, Douglas Henry, and Doug's three children, Joshua Henry, Will Henry, and Aaron Henry, all of Hagerstown. Phil was preceded in death by his mother, Mary M. Bray, his father, Henry G. Bray, and his beloved wife, Margaret, who made his life special.

The family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown at 1 o'clock on Friday, December 15th. The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Bill Bray at 2 o'clock. A private burial will be at 10:30 that morning.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Doey's House-Hospice of Washington County, Inc. or the John R. Marsh Endowment for Cancer Education through Meritus Healthcare Foundation.
