Phyllis Lorraine (Reynolds) Socks, 80, of Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born Nov. 18, 1931, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Katherine (Burger) Reynolds.
She attended school at St. Mary's Catholic School in Hagerstown during her youth.
Phyllis had worked as a waitress at the Elks Club in Hagerstown, a bartender at Morris Frock American Legion, and most recently as a health aide for the Commission of Aging in Hagerstown.
She loved horses and had a passion for thoroughbred horse racing.
Phyllis is survived by two sons, Harold E. Socks of Rio Ranch, N.M., who is retired from the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Terry W. Socks of Hagerstown, who is a longtime thoroughbred horse trainer at Charles Town (W.Va.) Race Track; and her companion, Robert "Bob" Landecker of Hagerstown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Interment will follow.
