Quentin S. Guy

August 2, 1931 — February 21, 2015

Quentin Shields Guy, 83, of Hagerstown, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

Quentin was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He did not have a birth certificate, so his chosen date of birth was August 2, 1931. He celebrated in style each year. Quentin had numerous homes in his lifetime; all who cared for him became his family.

Quentin was a devout Catholic. His famous line to everyone he met was "I'll pray for you!" and he sincerely meant it.

Quentin was a photographer and had a big photo collection. He also collected sports balls and loved the Orioles and the Colts. Anyone who knew Quentin knew he was a music aficionado. He loved to sing and dance and he knew the words to every song and hymn! Quentin was also a member of the Happy-Go-Lucky Bowling Club.

He had a one-of-a-kind personality and loved to make new friends. He would always ask someone's name, address, and telephone number when meeting them for the first time. Quentin loved the ladies. But most of all, he was kind and made everyone who knew him feel special and appreciated.

He was loved very much on this Earth and will be greatly missed by all that knew him; especially his previous and present caregivers from the Washington County Human Development Council.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Father George Limmer officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be private in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the W.C.H.D.C., 433 Brewer Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
