Ralph DeVore, Jr. died peacefully at home on January 12, 2019 after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
He was born in Hagerstown on July 29, 1935 to Edith Wolfe and Ralph DeVore.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Luanne Miles DeVore, his brother Ken DeVore and his parents. He is survived by his children, Angela DeVore, Vicki DeVore, Pamela DeVore-Easterday, Ralph DeVore III, and Deborah DeVore, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ralph was well known for his career in the arts as an Award-winning Parade Float Designer, Graphic Artist, Commercial Art Teacher at the Career Studies Center, and Designer of the National Library Logo.
His parade floats were featured for many years in the Alsatia Mummers Parade, the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade and the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade among others.
A Memorial will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church at 11am (10813 Donelson Drive, Williamsport, MD 21795). In lieu of flowers, please give donations to the Washington County Humane Society.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
