Raymond Edward Walters

Raymond Edward Walters, 87, of Hagerstown passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. He was the loving husband of 67 years to Barbara Walters.

Born August 19, 1935, in Silver Spring, Maryland, he was only child of the late Raymond B. Walters and Harriet Evelyn Bolton. Raymond worked for many years and the majority of his career as the comptroller for Kern Distributing located in Gaithersburg, Maryland before his retirement. Raymond loved watching football and was a Washington Commanders fan. He also enjoyed Nascar in the generation of Dale Earnhart Sr. He was known by his family also for his special affection for animals.

In addition to his beloved wife Barbara Walters, he is survived by his daughter Linda Tibbs and husband Joseph “Leon” Tibbs; his granddaughter Katie Hanson and husband Alan Hanson and great-grandchildren, Ryan Michael Martin, Brooklin Hanson and AJ Hanson.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Internment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
