Regine Lavonne (Metcalf) Holsinger, 82, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at her home, while surrounded by her loving family. Heaven received a great lady!
Born September 7, 1935, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Reginald Offett and Josephine Ruth (Pryor) Metcalf.
Regine was a 1953 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She retired in 2008 as co-owner of Holsinger's Meat Market; a business she started with her husband in 1964.
She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship as well as the Queen Esther Chapter #3 Order of the Eastern Star. She spent many years of her life as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Hagerstown, where she and all three of her children were baptized. Regine was a contributing member of Christian Motorcycles Assoc (CMA) as well as the Boy Scouts of America and was a past member of the local musicians union.
She was a remarkable pianist and organist. She has performed at various churches, schools, and community centers. Regine was very thoughtful and was always quick to send a greeting card to suit the occasion to everyone she touched in life. She was a huge contributor of the care and well being of her family as wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma.
Regine is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert Eugene Holsinger, Sr.; three children, Robert Holsinger, II and wife Trish, Lisa Eckel and husband Gordon, James Holsinger and wife Tammy, all of Hagerstown; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a close friend, Helen Pepple of Hagerstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James R. Metcalf and wife Mazie of Vista, CA.; and two sisters, Kathryn Novak and her husband Milton of Towsen, MD., and Carlyn McCray and her husband William of Baltimore, MD.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Eric Henderson officiating. Entombment will follow in Rest haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
