Reva Jean Hoover

Reva Jean Crane Hoover, 94, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born August 26, 1929 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Glen Elmo and Esther Link (Hendricks) Crane. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Franklin James Hoover; one daughter, Margaret Ann Bray and her husband, Philip Jackson Bray; sister, Joyce Brewer; two brothers, Bruce Melvin Crane and Richard Lee Crane and a great grandson, Joshua Henry.

She was a 1947 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was a life member and former Sunday School Teacher at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown. She was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, Auxiliary and she loved playing bridge.

Jean was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed entertaining large groups of her family for holiday dinners and other celebrations. She was affectionately called Nan not only by her grandchildren but also by her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by a daughter, Christine Coss; brother, Robert C. Crane; grandson Douglas Henry; great grandsons, Aaron and William Henry;  four great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Nelson Newman officiating.

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jean's name to a charity of ones choice.
