Richard Blaine Embly, Sr.

Richard Blaine Embly, Sr., 84, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Homewood of Williamsport.

Born February 12, 1939 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Leonard and Dolly (Jones) Embly. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his former wife, Barbara A. (Winters) Embly; three brothers, Joey, Robert and Leonard Embly; one sister, Betty Starliper; step son, Mark D. Durst and a step grandson, Jeremy Durst.

Mr. Embly was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve . He retired as a Truck Driver and was a member of the Teamsters Local 992, Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Mary A. (Eckel) Embly; six children, Ronald L. Embly, Sr. and wife, Lisa, Tammy A. Hammond and husband Todd, Barbi King, Brian Embly and wife, Wendi, Richard B. Embly, Jr., and David W. Embly; two step children, Rhonda A. Sewell and James J. Durst and wife, Wendy; one brother, Charles Embly and wife, Helen; sister in law, Irene Embly; eight grandchildren, Ronald L. Embly, Jr., Rebecca Embly, Colyn Hammond, Brittany Hammond, Jon King, Melanie King Brian Embly, Jr., and Quinton Embly; four step grandchildren, Jasmine Frisby, Jada Frisby, Cierra Durst and Tyler Durst; one great granddaughter, Cora Embly; one step great grandchild, Gambit Durst; one step great great granddaughter, Lainie Durst.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Tim Fisher officiating.
