Richard Lee Carter, Sr.

Richard Lee Carter, Sr., 51 of Chambersburg, Pa., passed away, Friday, January 14, 2022, at his home.

Born November 20,1970 in Tampa Florida, he was the son of Debra D. (Burker) DeHart and the late Ronald O. “Pappy” DeHart, Sr.

Richard also know as Blade was a volunteer fire fighter at the Fairplay Fire Department when he was younger. He was involved with various car and motorcycle clubs over the years and enjoyed meeting new people at these events. He worked as a Certified Mechanic for over 3 decades and eventually started his own shop called Carter’s Performance where he was always breaking and fixing something. He loved spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle and shooting at the gun ranges.

He is survived by his mother, Wife Jennifer D. (Files) Carter of Chambersburg, four children, Richard Lee Carter, Jr. (Paul Clark), Lucas M. Carter, Tanner S. Wiles, and Daniel L. Wiles; siblings, Brian Carter (Brenda Wills), Jeremiah Carter, Adam Carter (Taylor Carter), John DeHart II (Maria DeHart), John Ray, Melissa Gingerick, Ronald DeHart Jr., and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by Ronald DeHart Sr., his son Mason S. Carter, and brother-in-law Robert Gingerick

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday January 24, 2022, at 1:00PM, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown with Pastor Branda Yeargan, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Monday January 24, 2022, one hour prior to the service.
