Rita Gail Criss

Rita Gail Criss, 90, a Hagerstown resident for 60 years, passed away on August 31, 2020 at Autumn House East in York, PA.
Born in 1930 in western PA, Rita was the daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Beatty) Hardy. She is also predeceased by her loving husband of 37 years, Ronald Lee Criss. She is also predeceased by one brother and two sisters.
Rita worked at Western Maryland Hospital Center as a cook. She was a member of Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church in York, PA and was also a member of the Auxiliary for Meritus Health.
Rita is survived by her son, Ronald K. Criss and his wife Valli of Waldorf Maryland; and daughter, Jacqueline I. (Criss) Snyder and her husband Greg of York, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Katherine A. (Snyder) Ersoz and her husband John, Lauren R. (Snyder) DiPerna and her husband Brett, and Perin R. Criss; and great-grandchildren Lillian J. Ersoz, Josephine Gail (in honor of her great-grandmother) DiPerna, James A. DiPerna.
Rita loved life, her family and her friends. Her generous spirit and pleasant personality will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Pastor James Gross officiating. Attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing guidelines.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rita's memory to Maryland Food Bank 2200 Halethorpe Farms Road, Baltimore, MD 21227.
