Robert G. Sr. Snodderly

Robert G. Snodderly Sr., 82, of Sharpsburg, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Leitersburg, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Nellie G. (Rummel) Snodderly.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a lifetime member of Community Rescue Service; a member of Good Shepherd Ministries in Hagerstown; and a member of AARP.
Robert retired in 1989 after 20 years of service with the city of Hagerstown in the water department.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of more than 45 years, Hilda E. Snodderly; three sons, Robert Glenn Snodderly Jr. of Sharpsburg, Brian K. Snodderly Sr. of Hagerstown, and Earl William Snodderly of Greencastle, Pa.; two daughters, Laurie Ann Carroll of Waynesboro, Pa., and Melissa J. Smith of Hagerstown; two sisters, Wanda Ashbrook and Connie Lou Snodderly, both of Hagerstown; a brother, Raymond Snodderly of Maugansville; a brother-in-law, Robert Bartgis of Pahrump, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his faithful puppy, Molly.
A memorial service will be Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Ministries, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Jeff Casto officiating. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
