Robert Leslie Eisentrout (Peck), 96, of Hagerstown, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015. Family surrounded him as he went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Born on June 24, 1919 in Midland, MD, Peck was the son of the late Bessie and Ed Eisentrout. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Davis Eisentrout; a brother George Eisentrout, and sisters Lois Jackson and Evelyn Harris.
He graduated from Central High School in Frostburg in 1937 and went to work for the Civilian Conservation Corps. He later attended Frostburg State University and served in the Navy. He worked for Victor Products for 30 years and retired from JLG Industries.
Peck was a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church and served there for many years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and time with his family.
He is survived by his brother, Bill (Irene) Eisentrout of Middletown, MD and sister Mary Lou Robertson of Frederick, MD; children, Ann “Snicky” Davis of Laurel, DE, Jan Shaffer of Hickory, NC, and Lyn (Mark) Ivanowicz of Black Mountain, NC; five grandchildren Max and Jaime Davis, Corey Shaffer, and Emilie and Allie Ivanowicz.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 129 North Potomac Street, Hagerstown, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The John Hopkins University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at alzresearch.org.
