Robert Louis Embly

Robert Louis Embly, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home.
Born June 2, 1936 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Leonard and Dolly Elizabeth (Jones) Embly. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Billman; two brothers, Leonard and Joseph Embly and one sister, Betty Starleper.
Mr. Embly retired from AT&T Communications.
He was a member of New Life Christian Ministries, Hagerstown; Fire Police, Crime Solvers, he also was a paramedic with Community Rescue Services and a 10 year veteran of the Maryland Army National Guard.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and camping.
Mr. Embly is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gloria Jean (Sampson) Embly: two children, Teresa Poffenberger and Robert Embly, Jr., both of Clear Spring; a step son, John Musey of Virginia; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie and Richard Embly.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Ken Harris officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
