Robert Nelson Clowdis

Clowdis, Robert Nelson age 92 departed this world on December 17, surrounded by his loving family in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was born in Charlotte County, Virginia on January 2, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh B. and Essie Clowdis, brothers Elbert (Bud) Clowdis, Baylor Clowdis, and his beloved sister Peggy Clowdis Colley. He is survived by a daughter Diane Davis of Cumberland Virginia, a son Warren Clowdis (Donna) of Dry Run, Pa. and grandchildren Micheal Marion (Jamie), Jamie Davis (Ginger), Beth Czeizinger (Brandon), Danny Marion, Belinda Nicks (Brent), Thomas Earnest (Vickie) and Amy Earnest. "Gpa" and "Papa" as he was known, was loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Nelson also had a "special" neighbor Jackie Robison who helped his (out of town) family by checking on his well being regularly. Nelson was a proud veteran of WW II and had many memberships in various clubs in the area. Nelson loved gardening and sharing all his vegetables with family, neighbors, and friends. Nelson enjoyed time spent with family picnicking, working outdoors in his yard/garden, going to yard sales, and auctions. His spunk, love of life and love of family will forever be missed. Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc., is assisting with the arrangements, burial will be held at Mt. Carmel Church Phenix, Virginia at family's discretion.
