FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Ronald Eugene Turner, 66, of Falling Waters, W.Va., went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital, in Harrisburg, Pa., after a long illness.
Born April 20, 1944, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Norman Turner and Betty Jane (Rankin) Beard.
He was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
He retired after many years as a cabinet maker at J.L.H. Industries in Hagerstown.
Ronald loved to work with his hands. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Marie (Martin) Turner; two daughters, Dawn M. Freeman of Hagerstown, Angela N. Rinehart of Falling Waters; three sons, Ronald Turner II of Hagerstown, David Turner of Greencastle, Pa., Mark Turner of Hayes, Va.; two sisters, Linda Dawson and husband Leonard, and Sherry Cunningham; a brother, George Redmond and wife Pat; nine grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Christian Turner, and his grandparents, George and Naomi Rankin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Jim Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
