Ronald L. Hampton, 78, of Lemasters, Pa, died February 14, 2017.
Born May 22, 1938 in Mason-Dixon, Pa., he was the son of the late Chalmer F. hampton and Olive Edna Metcalfe Hampton. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by three brothers.
In his younger years, Ronald owned and rode horses and was a member of the Silver Star saddle Club of Greencastle, Pa. He also loved and played baseball. He managed Little League Teams in Mercersburg for several years and won several championships. Ronald also enjoyed hunting, football, dining at Keystone Restaurant, attending Country Music concerts, auctions and yard sales, always looking for a bargain.
Ronald was employed by Lowengart & Co., (Mercersburg Tannery), Grove Mfg. and Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, Md. for 25 years as grounds keeper.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Dorty) Hampton, whom he married on December 31, 1967; one son, Richard Hampton and wife Wendy of Chambersburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, Brittani Parson and husband, Justin of St. Thomas and Hunter Hampton of Chambersburg; great grandson, Paxtyn Parson and a sister, Betty Ambrose of Chambersburg.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Robert Cook officiating.
Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9 P.M and on Saturday one hour prior to services.
