Sarah Ferland Jones

Sarah Ferland Jones, 94, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born September 29, 1927 in Charlottesville, VA, she was the daughter of Angelo P. and Mabel (Few) Ferland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bennett Jones; Brother, Angelo P. Ferland, Jr.; and Sister, Josephine Ferland Smith.

She is survived by her Daughters; Patricia Lee Jones of Silver Spring, MD, Margo Lynne Jones of Fayetteville, PA, and Glynis Anne Jones of Falls Church, VA; her Son, Robert Darren Jones of Atlanta, GA; two Grandsons and Two Great Grandsons.

After graduating from James Madison University, Sarah taught Art in the public schools of Alexandria, VA. She also taught in Washington County. Sarah was last employed by the state of Maryland as an Employment Specialist II in the Maryland Job Service, retiring in 1991.

Sarah was a long time active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown and served on various committees.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at 2 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor David Eisenhuth officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

Family will receive friends one hour prior.
